“The racial hatred and intimidation displayed on the campus of UVA is a direct indictment on White Christianity in the United States. White Christianity, especially White Evangelicalism, has provided bone marrow, authority, entitlement…to fear based, selfish, greedy, and hateful displays of power and religiosity. This is tragic, not only for people of color and others in marginalized communities, but also for White Christianity.
Where is the liberation and freedom of our resurrected Christ? Where is the peace that passes all understanding that should allow White brothers and sisters to see the USA change demographically and not retaliate in fear and hatred? Where is the humbling of self for the good of all? The rising up of the KKK is evidence of a great discipleship and theological tragedy.” -Zakiya Jackson
